Texas Holdem has grown in popularity to the point that most tournaments now include Texas Holdem games, and there are even two or three television programs devoted to the game. Texas Holdem is a 5-card poker game, except instead of each tier receiving 7 cards, the dealer distributes 5 cards in the middle of the table, which are utilized by all players to form the greatest hand possible. Each player is given two cards to form their hand, and the goal is to utilize the cards in your hand as well as the ones on the table to construct the greatest hand possible.

Between each round of a Texas Holdem game, there is a round of betting, and this is when players with poor cards may fold.
The opening round of Texas Holdem is known as the pre flop. The large and small blinds make their bets during this round; the big and small blinds are the first two players to the dealers' left. Before the players are permitted to see at their cards, the small blind must make a wager equal to half the table minimum, and the large blind must place a bet equal to the table minimum, before the dealer deals each player their hole cards. The hold cards are the two cards that each player possesses that are solely theirs; these cards ensure that each player has a chance to create a better hand than the other players; without them, you would only have the five communal cards.
The flip is the following round in Texas Holdem. This is when the dealer distributes the first three of the five community cards. Most players will fold during this round; betting in this round is generally extremely cautious since two more cards are still required, and betting large on the odds that the cards you need will emerge is taking a huge risk with your money, one that may knock you out of the game early.
The third round is known as the turn. The turn occurs when the dealer deals the fourth community card. You may have a decent sense of your odds of obtaining a winning hand at this stage, and this is when the betting heats up and more players leave the game.
The river is the final of the five cards dealt by the dealer. At this stage, all of the cards needed to form the hands have been dealt, and it is also the final opportunity to wager before the cards are turned over.
The showdown is the last round of Texas Holdem, in which all players turn over their cards and a winner is proclaimed.
