Instagram, like any other social networking platform, uses advertisements to generate revenue for the company. However, there are times when the ads may overwhelm your Instagram feed. Thankfully, there is a way to reduce, or even completely remove, ads from your Instagram feed, and here's how.
Mashable first discovered this technique, which works by finding an ad, tapping on the “...” button, and then tapping on the “Hide This” option. When you do this, Instagram will ask you why you don't want to see the ad in question.
Now comes the exciting part. If you select the “It's not relevant” or “I see it too often” options, Instagram will simply replace those ads with new ones. If, on the other hand, you select the “It's inappropriate” option, the ads will be completely removed. It is possible to have an ad-free Instagram feed after flagging enough ads as "Inappropriate."
No one knows why doing so would correctly remove ads from your Instagram feed, so it is entirely possible that the removal of all ads was an oversight on Instagram's part. Regardless, this little bug could be useful to those whose Instagram feeds are overrun with advertisements.
